Puttani’s Story

We first saw Puttani in September 2013 at another NGO (which had called us to check on his limp), and he has a deep cut through the middle of his heel area of his front left hoof. After treating him at the animal shelter he was housed, we were requested to take him into our fold, as the NGO concerned expressed their inability to take appropriate care of large animals. We got him shifted to our well-wishers space at Palace Grounds yesterday.

You could see from this and the other video, the extent of his abnormal gait, as well as a close-up of the cut in the hoof. It would take many months for the affected hoof to get back to normalcy. We are thankful to our equine veterinarian and our hoof care advisor Rudrapratap Singh for outlining a plan of action with regard to his treatment and daily maintenance and care.

Thanks also to the management of KRUPA LOVING ANIMALS for giving permission to house a couple more equines, which has helped in our 'space management" (shifting of fit ponies to this shelter) to a large extent.
